30 Days about Me:Day 4

Day 4- Favorite Book - I really have been reading, but boring things like Tax code, and self help books like Being Happy. I just started Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Loved the show on PBS, so thought I should read the book.

30 Days about Me:Day 3

Day 3- Favorite Television Show - Last year, I would have asked what shows were still out there to choose from. I was working a bit much.

I have been watching a few shows lately like:Army Wives, Drop Dead Diva, Biggest Looser, Criminal Minds, and The Mentalist. I have one that I can only find on Hulu - Being Erica - I am REALLY liking it! There are 3 seasons so far, and they were originally on Soap Net.

30 Days About Me:Day 1

I have seen folks all over the web doing 30 day challenges, weather it be 30 consistent days of blogging to 30 days of no caffeine. I even saw one that was 30 days of exercise! I thought that was great, but then they added the eating healthy too! While I can see these are all good things, I am going to start small. Here is the start of 30 days of blogging. (I am already working on the exercise every day, and the caffeine? THAT one will be a while! LOL

Day 1: Favorite Song
This is a loaded question for me. I have SO many favorites!
I grew up in the 80's, and I was in Band. So there are lots of different styles and sounds that I like. - - - OK I love it all!
My favorite changes from country to the 80's to almost everything.

For starters: You and me against the world - Anne Murray, Elvis - Blue Christmas (honestly anything by Elvis!), Laughter in the Rain - Neil Sedaka, The Twist and Blueberry Hill - Chubby Checker, It's my Party - Lesley Gore, Lean on Me - Bill Withers, That's the way I like it - KC and the Sunshine Band, Harper Valley PTA - Jeannie C Riley, Sounds of Silence - Simon and Garfunkel, Pretty Woman - Roy Orbison, RESPECT - Aretha Franklin, Sunshine (on my shoulders) - John Denver, How Deep is your love - The Bee Gees, All I Need - Jack Wagner (a little Frisco from GH always made my day!) Tarzan Boy - Baltimora, Kenny Rogers (ALL of his music) Dolly Parton and not to forget Styx, Poison, Rush, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys - - -

I could go on for days!

My current favorites - Pink - Funhouse, or Adele - Rollin in the deep, Nickleback, Bruno Mars, I Was Here - Lady Antebellum, Collin Raye. (If you want to cry, look up the 11th commandment by Collin Raye.) And an artist to watch - Kalai - latest album came out in April

And if someone could tell me how to post the video that would be great!
More tomorrow!

Gratitude

Just going to take a moment and say I am grateful for:
Life, Family and Friends.

With all of the heartache and terrible times the people of the world are going through, I am thankful for the fact that I AM ALIVE!

This past weekend, (March 11, 2011) there was a terrible earthquake in Japan, causing LOTS of problems there. I actually know people there, so for the first time in my weird and shallow life I didn't just say so sad for them, and go about my own business. I was worried that maybe my friends weren't ok. Word came about seven hours later that they were shaken, but alright, and their family members were ok after the quake and the tsunami that came later.

The news channels here in the US had tsunami warnings and watches being broadcast all day long. After I watched the devastation from what cameras could be found, I heard that I knew more people in danger from the waves. The good news is that so far (crossed fingers) as of Tuesday Mar 15, no one that I know has been injured. Property damage can be repaired. I say a prayer of thanks that this is the case.

I will sign off for now, but I have so SO much to catch the blog up on.

2010 Update

2010 So Far This Year ....
So, the doctors finished with me in October, I still have some swelling in the left leg. But it is manageable with the use of the "stupid sock". (That's how I put them on saying STUPID SOCK!)
I started a new job with Stallings Sheet Metal in February. I am the Secretary/Bookkeeper. They service furnaces and air conditioners, and install fireplaces. They are great folks to work for.
Jonathan and Nichelle got married on March 10th, and we had a reception/celebration on the 17th of April at Liberty Hall in Manti. It was a very nice party, beautiful music by a great friend KALAI, and wonderful friends to help us celebrate!
Charlie just completed her Junior year, and is getting ready for the summer marching band season.
Mark just celebrated his tenth year at Centra-Com. Still doing what he started out with, outside plant tech, with a slightly larger area than he started with.

I'm a slacker!

I admit it. I haven't been very good about this blogging. Still finding it hard to think that anyone actually reads my stuff or even wants to know what is going on with me.

Well, I have had hopefully the last of all the vein procedures. (Total of four of them.) This last one was on the 15th of July, and there was no lazer's involved, only the shots. I HATE NEEDLES. Have I mentioned that before? I really HATE needles! This time they worked on both my legs, and there was no Valium to calm the nerves. Just the needles! Right now, my legs look like road maps with bruises from thigh to ankle. (Mostly on the back side of the legs too.) So sitting for long periods is not an option, but neither is standing for long periods either.

Jon and Nichelle came home for the 24th celebrations here in Fairview, we were able to round up enough tickets for the derby, so we (the kids and mom) were all able to go. (Mark never goes to these kinds of things, parades, dances, derby, concerts, etc. UNLESS he has been "asked" by someone EXTREAMLY special. (Kelly Clarkson, in the rain, in Provo, for Charlotte's birthday)
